Independent Studio Practice

Curatorial Concerns & Pascal

On Tuesday the 27th from 1:00 to 3:00 you will have an opportunity to meet with Pascal and get immediate verbal feedback on your work.

Email him to arrange your meeting time.

Bring finished works, works in progress, and tests. The best thing is to have these things in the space for review. Come to this meeting with concrete results. Not plans.

Making your work is one thing, but installing it into a space and working within these spaces is something altogether different. During this lesson we will be looking at your work which has been finished, and I want you to start thinking about how you will install this work in a space.

During the first week of the Exhibition module you should have an Exhibition Proposal ready to show Pascal detailing the scope of your project and what you plan on exhibiting. Now that you’ve got some direction, and have created your first works it is time to start thinking about how you will install these works and deal with the limitations of the space.

Think about the scale of the work and how it effects the viewing of it.

The module guide is designed to support your studies in the Independent Studio Practice Module in Year Three. It contains information that will help you to understand the structure, content, and delivery of the module and the kind of learning experience, aims, and outcomes you can expect. It is also a useful resource document that will give you advice on how to get the most out of this module.
